GFI today announced the release of GFI MailArchiver for Exchange, a new easy-to-use email archiving solution that enables organizations to archive all internal and external mail into a single SQL database. Leading Microsoft Exchange Server resource site, MSExchange.org, announced today that GFI FAXmaker for Exchange/SMTP was selected the winner in the Fax Connector for Exchange category of the MSExchange.org Readers' Choice Awards.� The product is a network fax server for Exchange and SMTP servers that allows users to send and receive faxes directly from their email client.

GFI MailEssentials for Exchange/SMTP 10.1 is one of the first server-based anti-spam solutions to support the anti-forgery Sender Policy Framework (SPF). SPF is rapidly gaining acceptance by leading organizations as a key method of blocking spam through sender authentication. The framework permits users to check automatically whether a particular email sender is forged. In its ongoing bid to help users win the battle against spam, GFI is offering the SPF module as freeware. Version 10.1 also detects directory harvesting, a method used by spammers to email as many recipients as possible within one domain.

GFI is launching a freeware version of GFI LANguard Portable Storage Control (P.S.C.), its new network security product that can prevent unauthorized users from taking information from the network or introducing malware via USB (Universal Serial Bus) sticks and other removable media (such as floppies and CDs). The product also allows administrators to control the connection of devices that can register storage in Windows, such as iPods, smartphones, digital cameras and handhelds. GFI is offering a full version of GFI LANguard P.S.C. for five machines as freeware.
